Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

With its straw-yellow color and fairly deep green hues, this wine offers a nice fresh and frank nose of white flowers, followed by notes of exotic fruits, papaya and peppery notes. On the palate, it has a good balance, a medium body with a good freshness and beautiful tension, Finale right and frank.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Located between Dordogne and Garonne, l’Entre-deux-Mers stands among the region’s main vineyard areas. Mostly known for its dry white wine, the region also produces red wine and rosé that are classified as Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieurs.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Haut-Rian

Located in the Bordeaux wine region of Entre-Deux-Mers in the towns of Rions, Béguey and Soulignac, Château Haut-Rian produces white wines under the appellation Entre-deux-Mers, red wines under Côtes de Bordeaux and rosé wines under Bordeaux Rosé.

    • Terroir: The 80 hectares vineyard is located on south and south-east sidehills under hot and dry weather conditions. The clay-limestone soil with gravely outcrops is conducive to the production of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc.

    • Viticulture: Harvests occur in cold mornings.

    • Wine-making: In the vat room, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks. The wine is bottled after 6 months.
