Our oenologists' opinion
Bright straw yellow colour, fine bubbles, persistent cord. Open nose, buttery, vanilla, with hints of praline. Attack on a fine and elegant bubble, creamy, notes of buttercream and vanilla, hints of soya, sapid, pleasant. Spicy, vinous, racy finish. Good balance, good tension and persistence, rich.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
Grand Siècle is elaborated from a choice of 11 of the 17 Grands Crus of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Domain and appellation
The idea of Grand Siècle is based on an observation: nature will probably never give us the perfect oenological year, but the art of blending can recreate it, with each new iteration.
Well beyond rare vintages, Grand Siècle is the choice of not one but three exceptional years with complementary oenological profiles. Grand Siècle is the unique expression of the search for excellence in champagne: "it is blending, the best with the best to obtain the best".
A robe of a beautiful brilliance and fine effervescence. An intense and complex nose of lightly candied citrus fruits followed by aromas of pastries, roasted almonds with subtle notes of honey and gingerbread.
The wine offers a fresh and delicate attack, then an impression of fullness. The finish is persistent and balanced, Grand Siècle offers a perfect balance between strength and delicacy.
