Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Light straw yellow colour with sandy tints, very bright, fairly large bubbles, regular, persistent in the cordon; open nose with notes of candied lemon, sultanas, orange blossom and pear in syrup, greedy, fine; attack with a medium-sized bubble that bursts, then notes of pear, white blossom and melted butter, nice finesse.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Champagnes are classified into three categories, crus (or villages), grands crus and premiers crus. Out of a total of 320 crus, 17 are classified as grands crus and 44 as premiers crus.

Domain and appellation

  • CHAMPAGNE DEUTZ

The DEUTZ House, a member of the old and prestigious Syndicat des Grandes Marques, has been making champagnes of a particular style combining finesse, vinosity and complexity since 1838. Supplies from more than 300 hectares of vineyards located in the best crus of the "historic" Champagne region as well as a rigorous selection of the origin of the grapes allow DEUTZ to have a raw material of the highest quality. Prolonged ageing in 3 kilometres of cellars dug into the heart of the chalk of the Aude region at a depth of 30 metres ensures that the champagne's aromas flourish and become more complex. Each cuvée, from the famous Deutz Brut Classic, recognised for its high quality and remarkable ageing potential year after year, expresses the expertise and passion of the House of Deutz for finely chiselled wines.
