Located in the heart of Champagne, the Chateau de la Marquetterie was the residence of the writer Jacques Cazotte, author of Diable Amoureux, and theatre festivals where philosophers and and writers of the "Lumières " would meet.
Domain and appellation
TaittingerFounded in 1734 as a trading company under the name Maison des Comptes de Champagne, the house took the name of the new owners in 1932.
- Terroir: This champagne is made from chardonnay and pinot noir grapes exclusively from the Folies vineyard, overlooking the Marquetterie Castle.
- Viticulture: Green harvests are practiced on vines on selected plots.
- Vinification: After harvesting, only the first pressed juices are retained. Each parcel is vinified in small volumes and certain batches in old oak casks. After bottling, the wine is aged 5 years in the field of cellars.
