Our oenologists' opinion
Its straw colour brings out an attractive aroma that opens with vanilla and woody notes, with yellow fruits and nougatine. As for the taste, this wine is balanced, full-bodied, lively, very typical, winey, and has a tight mineral grain with fine and melting bubbles.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

In 1999, the House Krug was bought by the LVMH group, with the Rémy Cointreau Group for 1 billion francs.
Domain and appellation
When, in 1843, Johann-Joseph Krug founded the Krug House, he dreamed of associating his name with a unique champagne. Creator of the Krug style, he is also the inspiration of a phi-losophy without compromise, that his successors were able to preserve and pass on for 6 generations after.
- Terroir: Krug has a vineyard of nearly 20 hectares located at Ay, Le Mesnil and Trépail. The Maison also supplies grapes from producers under long-term contracts.
- Viticulture: The harvest is manual.
- Vinification: Krug Grande Cuvée is the result of an assembly of over 120 wines from over 10 different vintages, some of which have waited for up to 15 years. The wine is then aged in cellars for at least 6 years.
