Fruity and well-rounded

ts light straw color offers a nice fresh nose with core notes. In the mouth, this wine presents a nice balance and finesse. It is frank, open and typed with a nice finish on the vibrant minerality of creamy bubbles.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

During the first tasting this champagne, Raymond Duval-Leroy discerned a white flower aroma fragrance evoking a "vine flower." He thus gave it the name "Fleur de Champagne".

 

Domain and appellation

  • Duval Leroy

    This 1st cru Fleur de Champagne, true symbol of the house, was born just after the creation of the scale of Crus in 1911. The first vintage, developed by Raymond Duval-Leroy was made from Premier and Grand Crus Great Marne Valley, the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, to express the best of the appellation.
     
    • Terroir: Located in Vertus, in the heart of the 'White Coast', this area of 200 hectares is planted mainly in varietal chardonnay on land classified "grand cru" or "premier cru".

     

    • Viticulture: Harvesting is done manually. The vineyard produces a third of its annual grape needs.
