Traditionally, South Africa is a producer of white wines. In recent years, following the privatization of state cooperatives, the focus is on the production of red wines. Pinotage, South Africa's characteristic grape comes from a cross between Pinot Black and Cinsault. You will not find it anywhere else in the world.
