Fruity and well-rounded

Its light straw color offers a nice nose with citrus zest aromas, pear and hazelnut. As for the taste, this wine presents a nice balance and has good envelope. It is frank, dry, nervous and full with a tense finish, coated and palatable.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

This Côtes du Rhône takes its name from the 45th North parallel which passes two kilometers of cellars of Maison Paul Jaboulet Elder. 

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné

    Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet, the Paul Jaboulet Ainé domain now belongs to the Frey family, Champagne wineries and owners of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux. This area is located on the most beautiful parcels of appellations of the northern Côtes-du-Rhône: Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Saint-Péray, St. Joseph and Condrieu.
     
    • Terroir: On this area of 100 hectares, vines devoted to Parallèle 45 Blanc are based on sandy soils.

     

    • Viticulture: Sustainable and environmental winegrowing practices aim to preserve and enhance the vitality of vines averaged 25 years. The harvest is manual.

     

    • Vinification: The vinification process is carried out in stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged from 2 to 3 months (50% in oak barrels) in the field of cellars.
