Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and light
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
DucourtLocated between Saint-Emilion and Castillon la Bataille, Château Des Demoiselles is one of the Ducourt family properties. Since 1858, the Ducourt family is one of the largest independent wine units from the Bordeaux region with 440 hectares of vineyards spread over 13 castles.
- Terroir: The 31 hectares of vineyards of Château Des Demoiselles rest on a sandy clay soil. The field is led by farming with grape varieties of Merlot at 70% and Cabernet Sauvignon at 30%.
- Viticulture: The vines are pruned "à la bordelaise" in guyot. Green harvests are practiced.
- Vinification: Pre-fermentation of cold maceration before alcoholic fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. After a gentle fermentation of 3 weeks, the wine is aged in oak barrels for a year.
