Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Its "clairet" color with orange reflections offers a nice nose on a floral point of lilies, then black fruits. In the mouth this wine has a good balance, full-bodied and fairly well-structured on the fruit. Final on blueberry and raspberry.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Cuvée Raphaël is the finest of Château de Parenchère and honors Raphaël Gazaniol, the domain’s renovator.
Domain and appellation
Château De Parenchere
Neighbor to the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne French department, the Château de Parenchère is the furthest east Bordeaux region’s domain.
- Terroir: Spread across 63 hectares, the vineyard lays on a clay-limestone soil with a dominance of clay. Located on a sunny sidehill, the crops are ideally drained giving the grapes the opportunity to ripen.
- Viticulture: The vines are 25 years old in average. The one that are over 40 years old are used exclusively for the prestigious Cuvée Raphaël. The yields’ size is high with a low concentration on each plant in order to guarantee highly concentrated fruits.
- Vinification: The plot-by-plot winemaking process allows the wine to express the terroir’s diversity. A 10 days cold maceration is followed by a fermentation in stainless steel tank. The Cuvée Raphaël ages for 14 to 18 months in French oak barrels.
