Well-rounded

Its garnet color offers an animal nose, and then opens onto gourmet notes of jam of blackberries and gray pepper. In the mouth this wine has a rich and complex attack on velvety and ripe tannins. Spicy and powerful finish.

Wines started spreading all across Europe in 500 B.C. The wine was then carried from one place to another through small amphoras. The development of Bordeaux vineyards dates back to the 2nd century.

Domain and appellation

    Second wine of the Château de Sales, the Château Chantalouette benefits from this gallo-roman vineyard’s ancestral traditions. The domain is the largest of the Pomerol appellation.

     

    • Terroir: Spread across 47 hectares, the domain lays on a graves-sand and clay soils with merlot as the main grape variety.

     

    • Viticulture: Sustainable agriculture methods are implemented to preserve vines that are in average 30 years old. Harvests are hand-picked.

     

    • Vinification: The fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 12 to 18 months with 6 months only in oak barrels in order to let the wine express its fresh notes.
