Its dark brick color with black highlights introduces a nose of blackcurrent jelly with a wooden, smoked, roasted, and zan hint. The palate is balanced, round, supple, headed and nervous with pleasant tannins.

Only 3 modifications have ever been made to this worldly recognized classification since 1855.

1er Grand Cru Classé since 1973, the Château Mouton Rothschild exists since the 18th century. Its history is shaped by an ancestral savoir-faire that was carried through generations and by a man, the Baron de Rothschild, who invested his time to give the domain its deserved prestige back.
- Terroir: Spread across 84 hectares, the terroir benefits from a favorable environment and weather conditions. The vineyard is located on a deep gravelly soil at the intersection of the Atlantic ocean, the Gironde estuary, and the Landes wood.
- Viticulture: The grapes are carefully hand-picked and placed in open small crates prior to be carried to the vat room.
- Vinification: The incorporation of state-of-the-art technology comes to complement an ancestral savoir-faire. If each vintage is made of a unique blend, this grand vin sets apart with its renown blackcurrant aroma and the dominance of cabernet sauvignon.
