Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

Caramel colour with orange reflections. Open, greedy nose, with notes of vanilla, plum brandy and mocha, and a hint of roast. Round, greedy attack, with notes of vanilla, caramel and spiced pear. Gourmet finish, on vanilla, young leather and toasted wood, medium persistence on alcohol and spice.

  • Keeping level Ready to drink

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

This rum was aged 18 to 24 months in oak casks. It was specially developed for the Maison NICOLAS. Harmonious and very present in the mouth, it presents a great aromatic complexity and will bring a woody and vanilla touch to all your punch.

Domain and appellation

  • Dillon

Rooted in the Terroir of Martinique since 1779, the Dillon rum is named after the famous Earl Arthur DILLON. Bought in 1967 by the family company Bardinet Bordeaux, it is now the No. 1 agricultural rum in the metropolitan market. Gold medalist in many competitions, it has had, since 1996, the AOC label (Appellation Contrôlée Martinique).

    • Distillery: The distillery Dillon is located on a former sugar plantation from 1690.

    • Manufacturing: The Dillon rum is distilled in the purest tradition of Martinique, from the juice of sugar canes from the plantations of Ducos and Saint-Esprit.
