Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
Its light straw color introduces an open nose of quince jelly and almonds. The palate is sparkling, straight, round, ample and nervous. Its bubbles are light and buttery.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
Produced in the Loire Valley, South Africa and California, the chenin blanc can only flourish in temperate climate.
Domain and appellation
Digged back in 1886 in a Tuffeau stone-pit, the Caves Monmousseau are ideally located in the prestigious “Vallée des Rois” and close to the Chenonceau Castle.
- Terroir: The vineyards evolve in geological and climatic conditions that are close to those of Champagne. The soils are made of tuffeau, granite, clay and silex.
- Viticulture: The harvests come from the entire Loire Valley thanks to strong and strict partnerships with winegrowers and “juices” producers.
- Vinification: This sparkling wine is produced according to the Traditional Method with a growth dedicated to its founder, Justin Monmousseau.
