Domain and appellation
Looking to design a different aperitif, which wouldn’t be based on wine, Fernand Moureaux got the idea in 1889 to distil gentian roots. A few years later in 1896, Henri Porte created the famous Suze bottle, which is immediately recognizable.
- Production: Suze is an aperitif made from gentian, enhanced with a good mix of aromatic plant extracts, obtained by maceration. Its subtle sweet/bitter combination awakens the taste buds.
