With Superstition, the distillery wanted to create a wild whiskey, paying tribute to all the fascinating stories around the world. On the front of each bottle you’ll see the ancient Ankh cross, dating from the Egyptian era and a symbol of luck in the Western Isles.
Domain and appellation
Isle of Jura
The Isle of Jura, located between the Isle of Islay and the Scottish Mainland, has nearly 150 inhabitants and more than 4,000 red deer. Nicknamed the “deer island”, it only has one distillery, certainly one of the oldest in Scotland and one of the most isolated. Founded in 1810, the distillery was closed between 1914 and 1963 and acquired in 1995 by the Group Whyte & Mackay Ltd.
- Production: Coming from a selection of the best single malts from the island (some ranging up to 21 years old), this whiskey is lightly peated with hints of smoke. It is then aged in old bourbon barrels.
