Do you know ?
The term "Fine" was authorized by the 1938 Act to designate an eau-de-vie under AOC. Thus "Grande Fine Champagne" designates a cognac of whose spirits are derived exclusively from the Grande Champagne.
Domain and appellation
Established by Jean Ménard in 1815, the eponyme brand gives local products an international dimension. Specialized in Pineau and Cognac, the Ménard maison benefits from an ancestral savoir-faire.
- Terroir: Spread across 80 hectares, the vineyard is situated on one of the Cognac region’s classified 1er Crus: Grande Champagne.
- Vinification: All these wines are distilled on properties in copper pot stills and in the traditional Charentais method. After a double distillation, the eau-de-vie collected is put to aging in Limousin oak barrels.
