Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Its straw color with green highlights offers a pure and air nose of almond and biscuit. On the palate, this wine is balanced, frank, fine, full-bodied, distinctive and nervous with a mineral finish with creamy bubbles.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Champagnes are classified into three categories: Crus, Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Of a total of 320 wines, 17 are classified Grands Crus and 44 Premiers Crus.

Domain and appellation

  • Salon & Delamotte

Founded in 1760 by Francois Delamotte, the Maison Delamotte is among the five oldest champagne houses. Salon and Delamotte are both part of the Laurent-Perrier Group.

    • Terroir: The Chardonnay used in this Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru comes from the Côte des Blancs, from pure chalk.

    • Viticulture: The harvest is manual.

    • Vinification: Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats. Slightly dosed, this champagne is assembled with at most 10% of reserve wines. It is then aged on laths 4 to 5 years before disgorgement.
